Sandy attended San Diego State University and UCSD for lifetime California Community College Credentials and retired as an Associate Professor for the San Diego Community college district.  She taught college and Continuing Education classes in Business Information Technology for 25 years.  She has been a board trustee for an elementary school and President of the Academic Senate for Continuing Ed.  Currently work as a sub instructor.

Sandy is an advanced certified diver and hold Aux Coast Guard Crewman status.

She has been riding horses off and on since she was 14 years old.  She owns two horses named Bonita and Sahara and is active in the Bonita Valley Horsemen Club since March 2008 as temporary secretary.
